In the heart of Monteverde, Mezè Bistrot offers the ancient custom of mezé, a Middle Eastern tradition that for centuries has opened meals with a rich variety of small shared dishes. The mezé, or mezzeh, is an authentic collective ritual with roots dating back to the time of the sultans: a monument of the gastronomic culture of the Middle East and North Africa, widespread during the Ottoman era throughout all the territories of the Empire. To the table come creamy sauces such as chickpea hummus and eggplant babaganush, along with refined salads and fried dishes of every kind, accompanied by warm bread. Mezè Bistrot reinterprets the Mediterranean and Balkan recipes of these ante litteram appetizers, enriching the menu with some geographical license: delights of the Judeo-Roman tradition, Sinhalese specialties and original recipes, the result of the creativity and passion of Daniela and Elwis in the kitchen. Mezé is just the beginning: the meal continues with cous cous, kebab, Jerusalem chicken and pasta with eggplant. To close on a sweet note, homemade desserts such as warm pear, walnut and cinnamon cake served with ice cream, chocolate cake, cardamom ice cream and ricotta dessert. Enjoy your meal.
