Il Cortile is a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant in the heart of Monteverde Vecchio, in Roma, where seafood specialties and tartufo dishes tell a family story spanning almost a century. It all began with Giovanni Salvi, originally from Amatrice, who opened a neighborhood trattoria in the Capital: at the tables, house wine from Velletri was served, while in the kitchen his wife Maria prepared fettuccine and spezzatino with artisanal dedication. Over the years, his son Aldo turned the kitchen into the true beating heart of the restaurant, a haven for food lovers run with passion together with his cousin Dario. Today the torch has passed to Simone, Aldo's son, and to the young grandchildren Edoardo and Tommaso, who bring new energy without ever betraying the roots that have distinguished Il Cortile for generations. In a welcoming and convivial setting, the table offers the classic dishes of family tradition, accompanied by an ever-evolving wine list. With the fourth generation at the helm, Il Cortile continues to preserve that simple genuineness that has always made it a landmark of dining in Monteverde.
