In the heart of Trastevere, in Piazza di S. Calisto, Cave Canem is a historic Roman trattoria and pizzeria open since 1979. A true fraschetta with an authentic and informal atmosphere, where you can enjoy the great classics of Roman cuisine: carbonara, amatriciana, cacio e pepe, saltimbocca, coda alla vaccinara and trippa alla romana, alongside the original patatone, stuffed and handmade. The undisputed star is also the pizza romana, thin and crispy, cooked in a wood-fired oven following the traditional recipe. Every evening, from 5 to 7 pm, the restaurant offers an aperitivo with homemade fried snacks, platters and house wine, perfect for starting the evening with friends. The warm and welcoming setting is located in a quiet yet very central area of Trastevere. With the arrival of warmer weather, the outdoor tables overlooking the square become the perfect spot to savor the dishes and breathe in the neighborhood's most genuine and authentic spirit.
