The story begins in the 1950s, when Fortunato Baldassarri moved to Rome from Terracino, a small town near Amatrice. Here he gained his work experience in prestigious establishments such as Il Circolo della Caccia, La Taverna Flavia and Ai Tre Scalini, serving internationally famous figures such as Liz Taylor and Alberto Sordi, as well as political and noble personalities, becoming a protagonist of the epic era of the Roman Dolce Vita. In January 1975 the restaurant Da Fortunato was born, at number 55 of Via del Pantheon, in the very place where an ancient Roman osteria once stood, thus continuing a gastronomic history dating back to 1700. Fortunato passed on his passion and experience to his son Jason, who today carries on the family business with dedication, focusing on quality, product research, simplicity and the enhancement of raw ingredients. The menu, creative and rich in typical dishes of Roman and national cuisine, combines simple and refined flavors, faithful to Italian gastronomic tradition. Fish and seafood arrive regularly fresh from the fish auction of Anzio.
